sunday night blues

Bad news: So about a week ago, I started getting tooth sensitivity. Not even to hot or cold, just to pressure. I tried to ignore it for a few days, hoping it would not turn out to be a problem, but alas. It's turning rapidly into a full-blown ache. As this is one of the teeth I have the crowns on, I really don't have a good feeling about how this will develop.

Good news: My coworker assures me that dental work is covered under the national insurance plan.

Good news: I have found a dental clinic not very far from my apartment -- in fact, just a block or so down from my bus stop.

Good news: They are open until 6 PM on weekends, so I can stop by after school tomorrow and at least try and set up an appointment.

Good news: They're also open from 9-noon on Saturdays, which means that with any luck I won't even have to take a day of nenkyuu to get my tooth looked at.

Good news: The JET board seems to think that this particular dentist actually uses novacain (apparently not a guarantee in Japan.)

Bad news: Avatar 3x14 didn't air this week. Boo!

If anything, I'm surprised it wasn't before this.

I suppose I really should have gone to the dentist while in the States -- but the proble, whatever it was, hadn't started yet by then. And there really just wasn't much time.

Apparently they are holding off on showing more Avatar until Nickelodeon catches up with the current episodes. Apparently they are 4 episodes behind. Boo!

It's some kind of super-novacain, even! I mean, normally they shoot you up, and then leave for 10-15 minutes while it kicks in, right? This guy shot me up, and within 30 seconds my whole upper jaw was numb.
