This is taken in the backyard of my parents' house in Austin, on the slope overlooking the ravine. The light wasn't the best for it, though. ;_;

It would sound like boasting if I said "I know," but the truth is that I was just unhappy with my hair the whole time I was trying to grow it out. And as soon as I got it cut I was like "oh, what a relief!" I think short hair just suits me better.

Well, her back paw -- the one that was injured -- is fine now, no trouble at all. She does have some arthritis in one of her front paws that is apparently entirely unrelated, but it doesn't seem to slow her down any -- we'll just see her holding it up sometimes.

They are quite trainable, as my sister regaled -- Arwen at least is quite intelligent, and like all working dogs she is eager to serve. She's a fairly little dog, even for a corgi -- at the bottom percentile of corgi sizes, I think -- but she can jump up on your waist if she's excited (which she usually is.) She also has no trouble getting up and down on furniture (although she prefers the low chairs to the tall chairs) or in and out of a car.

Hey, it gets cold in Austin! Occasional ice storms and everything! Admittedly it wasn't that cold at the time, but definitely not too warm for a light sweater like that one to be appropriate.

I don't know if it's the lighting or not, but the brightness of the red makes you pretty pale. Not sickly-pale but beauty-pale. It's nice.
