vegas, part 2
Sep. 17th, 2005 12:41 pmSo -- where was I last time? Oh yeah. Club 54. Clubbing, male dancers. At least three people definitely tried to pick me up, one of them telling me I had very nice skin. (??) Alcohol...
Hmm. I seem to have forgotten the rest of the evening.
Just kidding. :) At about 2 AM (after the male dancer got off his shift) we wandered out again. Sera (more than a little drunk by this time) called her dad to see if he would come pick us up (it being rather late and far from our hotel) and then the Pet just to harass her. While talking on the phone with the Pet, this totally random stranger guy walked up to us and started hitting us up for advice on how to deal with his on-again-off-again girlfriend cheating on him (?) with his brother. I'm really not sure if he was drunk or not or what; or perhaps he was under the impression that as girls, we would have the ability to magically tell his girlfriend to stop being a ho. Or maybe he was trying to pick us up, I'm not sure. Where by "us" I mostly mean "sera and aoi," since he didn't seem to like me at all, or so I deduced by him threatening to punch me in the face.
Back to the hotel. Sera and Aoi went downstairs to gamble some more. I went to bed.
The next day was our last day there. We mostly spent it shopping, although I was good and spent a total of less than five dollars, including the coins I fed to the spinny charity drop thing to watch it go round and round. It was much more fun just to walk around in Caeser's Forum Shops and look at stuff. This being Vegas, they had free shows -- every hour or so the fountains would light up and move and talk and it was pretty damn awesome. Some of the movements were so good I was almost sure it was an actor in a suit, although some of the rest were very obviously mechanical. Still. We saw a show that was the "retelling of the fall of Atlantis," with a sexy amazon chick and a fire-breathing stud. So... worth seeing. :) We also wandered around for a while in... FAO Schwarz? The toy store. They had some awesomes tuff, some of which I was really tempted to get as a gift to my aging parents. But I don't think they really play board games any more, so not the best investment.
We also went cruising around until we found the place actually selling the meter-long margaritas (and pina coladas, fortunately, although we couldn't quite finish it anyway) and Ethel M's Chocolates, where I definitely did not spend less than five dollars total, oops. But it was worth it. Mm.
Then Sera's phone broke, we contacted her parents with some difficulty to dump ourspoils stuff in the car, and went off to watch the Treasure Island show. That was fun. After that it was dinner, which as usual lasted way too long into the evening, and then everyone packed up to leave.
Trip home was uneventful, aside from being surprisingly FAST. Forget 7-8 hours, we went from Las Vegas to Moreno Valley in three hours, counting a bit stop. Holy shit.
There follows some boring ditzing where I made myself obnoxious at Sera's house for a few hours, then got myself caught in the 4 AM traffic back home. Sigh.
So ends Vegas.
