Now that was one classy piece of procrastination. I'll say it right now.

Let's look at the timeline, shall we?

T-minus six weeks: Paper due date and format is announced. It is to be a twelve-page paper with a minimum of five sources, and is due on 4 PM Friday the 24th.

T-minus one and a half weeks: Subject of paper comes up in conversation with classmate. Procrastinatrix (hereafter referred to as PX) is asked what she thinks she might do for the paper and comments off-handedly that she thinks she'll do myasthenia gravis.

T-minus two days: PX looks for books on myesthenia gravis in library and realizes that nobody writes about it. Changes subject to Huntington's disease, takes out one book on the subject.

T-minus one day: PX changes topics again, this time to multiple sclerosis, and takes out three books on it.

T-minus sixteen hours (12 AM): PX writes outline for paper on MS.

T-minus fourteen hours (2 AM): PX finds two additional sources on MS and writes bibliography for paper.

T-minus twelve hours (4 AM): PX starts writing text of actual paper. Is distracted by fanfic.

5 AM: PX returns to writing paper.

5:30 AM: PX quits and goes to bed, having written one page.

9 AM: PX gets out of bed and goes to job.

1 PM: Lunchtime. Leisurely half hour on the college lawn.

1:30 PM: PX goes to computer library to work, with two and a half hours on the clock.

1:30-2:30 PM: PX goofs around on internet.

2:30 PM: PX starts writing.

3:30 PM: PX finishes editing twelfth page and uses the remaining half an hour to swear at the network printer.

4 PM: PX hands in paper, and goes to get hair cut.

Dude. You've almost beat my fifteen page term paper that I completely forgot about until about fifty-two hours before it was due, had done no research for, had no topic for, wrote in fifteen hours on four pots of coffee and no sleep immediately after handing in my thesis, was late to the class where I was supposed to present it and hand it in because I was still writing when class started, and apparently completely neglected to spell-check, going by the typos I discovered on the title page when I got up to give the presentation that I hadn't prepared for.

That's apples and oranges, really. Forgetting about an assignment isn't procrastination, just misfortune.
