the good, the bad, and the ugly

...although my sister points out that the whole idea behind that movie is that everybody is simultaneously good, bad, and ugly...

The good:
-I got my grade report today, and it was all As, except for my Japanese teacher who apparently was smoking some kind of crack to give me a B. @_@ Well, rock!
-I have a PS2! Happy birthday to me!

The bad:
-My dad thinks he has a detatched retina coming on. For you laymen in the audience, this is Very Bad.

The ugly:
-Going back to CA tomorrow. Woe!

detached retina

Showers of falling bright spots? Or is he seeing the actual holes on his eyes? *fidgets* I have a risk of that, so it's something that's mention never fails to make me frantic. I hope he ends up just fine.

He had floaters for a couple of days, apparently, but his warning bells went off when he detected a hole in his vision. He's had a detached retina before, in his other eye, so he recognized it. He went to the doctor this morning, and they found a small retinal tear and repaired it.

Has he has his blood pressure checked lately? Very high and/or prolonged normal high blood pressure can detach retinas. They can reattach if the bp is caught in time.

He goes to the doctor on a regular basis, and I think they keep an eye on his BP. But his big risk factor was having had a detached retina before, after surgery, and having had surgery on this eye in the last year. But they found the tear and fixed it, so I think he's going to be fine. The doctor had to look very hard for it, and said he was very observant to have identified it.
