Who decided it was suddenly spring here? After being rainy and disgusting Monday, Monday afternoon suddenly cleared up to gorgeous cloud formations, bright sunshine and clear air, which has continued. Yesterday the campus grounds were clogged with people lounging on the grass and playing games, and the hammocks have gone up.
I must admit, the weather has been exceedingly pleasant, even in the mornings. It was enough to make me think longingly about getting an apartment close enough to campus that I'll be able to ride my bike there every morning instead of driving. Sigh. At least next semester I'll finally be free of the grind of getting up early* morning, every morning, to get down to Japanese class.
Speaking of which, no Japanese class tomorrow! The teacher will be absent for a conference!! This is the first cancelled class we've had, if memory does not fail me, ALL YEAR. The teacher asked us on Monday if we would like to come in early on this day, since we don't have normal class, to take a proficiency exam. What's the proper level of formality to tell your teacher HELL NO?
I'm actually looking forward to going on Daylight Savings Time this upcoming weekend. (Haha, admit it, who among you guys forgot?) Yes, I'll lose an hour of sleep, but I'm so sleep deprived nowadays that an hour here or there can hardly hurt me more, and this way, I'll be one extra hour up on those damn birds.
*This morning I dragged myself out of bed at 9:52, left the dorm at 9:55 for my 10:00 class. No comment on relativity please.
