Okay, so it amused the hell out of me that the SoCal weather services consider rain extending over a period of three days to be worthy of a severe weather alert. Well, it might be heavy rain, right? Nope. Just ordinary intermittent rain & drizzle. To the Californians, this is a BIG DEAL. Worse yet, there's NO PREDICTING when the rain will start or stop. You could be out there, innocently cooking on your February barbeque grill, and it might rain at ANY TIME. omgno! STAY TUNED TO THE WEATHER CHANNEL FOR FURTHER UPDATES ON THIS HAZARD!

...actually, it's valid. ^_~ Seeing as the water table is already running high from the rainy winter we've had (rainy by anyone's standards, really; I hear it rained nearly steadily the entire winter break, and 3 of 4 Fridays since I got back have been rainy) even light rain poses the danger of mudslides. But still.

Bored at work? A couple of sites that have made me laugh in the last few days:

"I am a Japanese School Teacher"
-Read this if you are a teacher, considering the JET program, or have any interest at all in Japan. :) Mostly worksafe; some swearing and a lot of discussion of raunchy things, but nothing NC-17; they're schoolkids, after all.

"Superman is a dick."
-Read this if you ever had any interest in american comic books. :) Work-safe, despite the title. Could easily have been renamed "Superman is a jerk" with no loss of meaning.
