I knew I should have slept longer.
Nov. 3rd, 2004 02:59 amWomen's rights pushed back twenty years, gays and lesbians relegated to second-class citizens, thousands of jobs shipped overseas, schools crippled, deaths of over a thousand U.S. citizens and thousands more of innocent nationals, taxes robbed from the poor and given to the rich, bullying in the international community, environment ravaged, privacy invaded, dissent silenced, propaganda proliferated, freedom restricted, and Tom DeLay promises us that with his new House majority, we can look forward to even more exciting things. Hold me back, oh, hold me back, the glorious patriotic love singing through my veins is making me dizzy. And oddly nauseous.
Of course, if by some far out chance Kerry wins the white house, he'll face four years of stonewalling and obstructionism from every other branch of the government, at the end of which people will point to him and say "See! He's an ineffective president!"
Seriously. This patriotic ferver-- I can't contain myself. Please, somebody fetch me a glass of cold water. And a gun, so I can f@#%ing shoot myself in the head.
[edit] This made me laugh, though.
