how schizoid
Oct. 2nd, 2003 06:23 pmWhat a piece of irony just showed up in my inbox... Like every college mailing list, I get the weirdest combinations.
Piece of mail #1: (was actually much longer, this is just a segment of it)
The people of California simply cannot afford to have Arnold
Schwarzenegger as their governor.
In 2000, we were taken in by a charming, affable man who promised us
compassion but gave us war in Iraq, a soaring deficit, millions of lost
jobs, two million more people living in poverty, and the rollback of
vital environmental protections. I look at Arnold Schwarzenegger, and
see more of the same. We don't need another figurehead for all the usual
Republican special interests. Let's not be fooled again.
(Not being a CA resident, I'm not going to be voting either in the recall or in the subsequent re-election, but from everything I've heard since he started his campaign, I'd rather vote to elect Arnold Rimmer than Arnold Schwarzeneggar. @.@)
Piece of mail #2:
Let's bring California back!
Arnold invites you to join him for a rally at the Los Angeles County
Arboretum. Arnold will be there and so should you!
The campaign is looking for volunteers to help set up for the event.
Thousands and thousands of people should be there, so it is important
that we have lots of people there to help out.
Talk about sending conflicting messages to the student body.
Unsurprisingly, the first message was from a Pitzer student, and the second, a CMC student.
