A pirate I was meant to be, arrr
Jun. 30th, 2007 11:26 pmJapanese cinemas have one up on American cinemas: they put an outlet for their movie merchandising right there in the theater. Pick up on this model, America! Maybe it will make up for what you can't gouge in refreshments! (Although the Japanese do that too; 500 yen for a soda? WTF, japan, wtf.)
So I have now seen Pirates of the Caribbean 3: Worlds End. When I got to the theater, the next screening in english was three and a half hours away, so I just said SCREW THAT, gimme a japanese ticket. As a result, I am only slightly more confused than I would have been if I'd seen it in English. However: Ninety foot nude woman tied to a mast, definite plus point, no translation required.
In other news, I want to see this new Saiyuki movie that comes out next month. It looks colorful and exciting and funny and action-full and fun, even if I can't understand what's being said or going on. Plus the Goku is smoking and yes, Sanzo is a woman.
