weirded out

My roommate has been acting kind of flaky lately. Every time I see him in the past few days, he's been out on the balcony smoking. Like, morning, afternoon, and middle of the night. (He doesn't lock the balcony door after he comes in, either, which irritates my security sense.) This evening when I got home from work, he asked me if I had a lighter -- he knows damn well I don't smoke. (I actually DO have a lighter despite that, or I did, because when I looked in the drawer I kept it in, it was gone.) I couldn't swear to it, but it's a fair guess it's not plain cigarettes he's smoking, either.

Now it's 3 AM and he comes back to the apartment, with his girlfriend, apparently too smash dead drunk to unlock the door with his key. At least I hope he's just drunk. O_o

Isn't it a little early in the semester to be getting the kind of stress that requires one to drug themselves insensible day after day? Geez. I hope he remembered to pay his half of the rent. Speaking of which...
