GOOD NEWS SERA
Aug. 30th, 2005 05:11 pmSaumik called back and said he could take my Saturday shift. Vegas, Vegas!
Now, to make sure this doesn't happen again, I ought to let them know I need Friday AND Saturday off on Halloween weekend. >_>; I'm running a panel at Y-con, I gotta be there! I think I mentioned that to her...
Work seems to be falling into place. 10 hours at the copy center -- Barbara wanted me to do 12, but we're only allowed 18 per week during the semester for full time students. She said she was willing to change my subject if it would keep me working there, cos she doesn't want to lose me. Doh. >_< 8 hrs at the IT help desk, and then freelancing for Dave in microforms. I gotta talk to him bout that.
First day of classes today, too. Studies of Gender in Science, Medicine and Technology -- shortened to just Science, Medicine and Technology in the course catalogue, the blackguards -- does not terribly inspire me so far. It's certainly still in my field, but of the three pillars of STS -- sociology, history, and philosophy -- it's the one that interests me the least. Oh, well, it fills a requirement. The senior seminar looks like it'll be a lot more fun. Culminating in a thesis proposal at the end, to go with the thesis writing next semester. Gulp. Fortunately I actually have a fair idea of what topic I want to do my thesis on.
My last two classes, Child Psychopathology and City in Chinese Lit and Film, I don't have till next Monday. But the reading assigned for the lit class looks really exciting! Can't wait till it gets here and I can start on it. ^_^;
