busy week: costumes, kittens, kerry
Jul. 28th, 2004 12:28 pmLeading up to the con, it's been a busy week, and will probably continue to be...
Yesterday, despite the horrible weather (pouring rain, lightning & thunder) we went down into Philadelphia for a Kerry rally. This involved standing in the rain for two hours, and umbrella or no, it was rather miserable. Was it worth it to see him and hear him speak? Hm, maybe. I still think Edwards was a better speaker, though he didn't mention Sponge Bob Square Pants. Hee. Still, we left at 2:30 and didn't get back till after 8, so that pretty much ate up the day.
The Roy costume isn't finished yet. Two days till Otakon and it's not finished! *frets* In a few minutes I'm leaving to go fabric shopping for white piping and a grey belt, not to mention gloves. Then it's just a matter of sewing everything together.
On our way home from the fabric shop, we'll also pick up the kitten that's due for my sister. You should have seen my father's face when he realized we were going to have a SIXTH pet on the premesis for a week. X3 I only regret that I'll be leaving for three days on Friday and won't be able to take care of her. Sigh...
And no matter what, I'll have to stop what I'm doing when it gets towards 7:00, because my student's going to come for her lesson, and I don't have lesson plans completed nor worksheets composed! *frets*
Tomorrow, the Mad Scot comes over in a thinly veiled excuse to let
oysterverse and me rewatch FMA. Hee hee. I think he'll like it, though. The main character is attractive, kick-ass, and hot-tempered, not to mention, er, short, so my friend will be able to identify with him easily. ^^v
Geez, when I say it all that way, it doesn't seem so busy... But I *feel* really rushed. Also on Thursday night we must pack and get ready for the con, which includes appropriating the cooler and putting food in it. I learned from my last con!
