I'm running out of good subjects. -_-; I hate riddles that have answers like "life" or "fear" or "time" or some such. You wouldn't think it would be hard to think of a simple enough object to write a nice vague riddle about, but none are presenting themselves to me. @_@

I eat, drink and breathe,
Yet life I lack.
When I am brightest
I turn black.
I ease your fears
I please the eye
And the more I grow,
The more I die.

For the next two, I was concentrating much more on the structure and rhyme, so they're more like nursery rhymes than proper riddles.

Follow the leader,
Follow the leader,
Seal up the wounds he brings on.
Bend where he breaks,
Bind what he takes,
And hold it there when he moves on.

Especially this one.

Picture hanging on the wall,
Picture broken from a fall.
Many pictures, all the same.
Does this picture have a name?
